Oh man!!! Could this be the day that Nintendo FINALLY brings back Mary O.?! It's probably too late to have her be part of the tutorial, but maybe there could be DLC jobs in the story mode and some of them could be by her?? Or at the very least, a Mary O. Mii costume as DLC??

Has anyone asked why Mary O was replaced? Im curious. ❤️

People have asked, but so far Nintendo hasn't answered or (to my knowledge) even acknowledged that Mary O. was replaced. Probably because while it turns out I'm not the only one upset that Mary O. was removed for seemingly no reason, there's far fewer people talking about that than there are people talking about other new features/changes in Super Mario Maker 2. So I may never know.

But there's been several cases where Nintendo brings back characters that have faded into obscurity for years, so at least I can hope that Mary O. will be another one of those someday. But the question is... how long will that be?? It's only been less than five months so far, but that's five months too many for me...

I guess this is what I get for being enough of a dork to have a crush on the guide to a game manual. :(

Who knows.

As much as I love Mary O., though, I can see why Nintendo thought it wasn't terribly important to have all the interface/manual characters from Super Mario Maker return in SMM2. But I really hope that there's enough people who are upset that Mary O. was replaced, and that enough of them are vocal about it, that Mary O. will return in an update or in Super Mario Maker 3 or something. If SMM3 gets released and she still doesn't return, there won't be any excuse that time.
