Garfaversary

I'm two days behind in posting about this (I don't post about ANYTHING the day it happens anymore, apparently...) but happy 40th anniversary, Garfield!I still remember back when Garfield's 25th anniversary was pretty recent. I was REALLY obsessed with Garfield in that era (2003-2004)... I can't believe that era was fifteen years ago. (Or that, ( Read more... )

Me too :) Though I didn't read them in the paper so much as I read them in my Garfield books (I collected so many of those over the years... I still have them and collect more today!) and on garfield.com. And in 2004*, 2017, and 2018 I had Garfield page-a-day calendars. :)

*Yes, I was obsessed enough with Garfield that I still remember exactly which non-recent year it was I had a Garfield page-a-day calendar. :)

You worry too much. As long as you enjoy it, that's all that matters. :)

:)

Sometimes that's hard to believe when Garfield fans get made fun of for being Garfield fans, though... You're probably going to say that none of the examples I mentioned are making fun of Garfield fans, but go to the Square Root of Minus Garfield archive, find "Garfield's Fan Dumb" or something like that (I'd link to that one directly but the longer my subconscious can pretend that that one doesn't actually exist, the better... it's sometime between when I was still reading SROMG regularly and when I'd started trying to catch up on everything, so 2012-2015 probably), and tell me if you're still sure that they're not making fun of Garfield fans.

It doesn't matter if some people make fun of what you like, if you like it, that's all that matters. And you are just being overly sensitive, which is fine but no one is actually seriously making fun of the fans. But even if they were, it doesn't matter at all. You like something, like it. Someone else doesn't, okay. That's fine. That doesn't mean that you can't like it, because you can and you should. And no one expects you to STOP liking something because they don't like it.

Okay. I'll take your word for it. You did see the SROMG strip I'm talking about, though, right?

No worries :)

I'm less worried about it now - there's Garfield stuff on Quidd and it turns out Garfield is, like, the one thing on there that so far I haven't seen anyone get angry about. :)

And I also loved Garfield & Friends as well :) I got the whole series on DVD years ago (2007 or 2008 probably?) and started trying to watch the whole thing, and got pretty far, but at some point I got sidetracked and never finished it. And I don't remember how far I've got so I'd have to start from the beginning. But SOMEDAY I'll finish it! :)

I think that's the longest I've ever procrastinated anything that I know for a fact I can finish...
