Well, looks like my Psychology class (while possibly not as reminiscent of the Forbidden Comment Threads as I was worried it'd be) is A) still going to be pretty tough and B) not yet guaranteed to never turn into a heated debate, even though one hasn't happened yet. Software Engineering and Game Graphics look like they're gonna be pretty tough too ( Read more... )

There may very well be debates in that class but that doesn't mean they will be heated or that you will even have to participate. Remember, people like airing different viewpoints (sometimes even if they don't support those viewpoints) just to make conversation. It doesn't mean that they care all that much so quit worrying! And I still want to see the Forbidden Comment Threads.

Also: "Have you noticed this man's SHOES ARE UNTIED?!" is one of my favorite parts in that whole episode. I love how Mulder is so dramatic and silly from Scully's point of view.

There actually was a debate in the last class. It wasn't that long and wasn't for a grade, and not everyone had to participate in the conversation (we just had to move to the "agree" or "disagree" side of the room for each topic), and it even didn't get out of hand, but still... who's to say that if we have another debate like that, it won't be worse?

Like I said, no academic debate will actually get heated, you might just THINK it is heated. That's what we've talked about before that you are so worried about things you can't really see some things the way they actually are, just the way you fear they are. But why worry about something that hasn't even happened yet?
