Miisunderstood

December 25, 2012: Made my first post on Miiverse.
April 12, 2013: Made my first post on Miiverse that would end up being misunderstood.

It's one of the friendliest online communities I've ever seen, and I still can't make it 108 days and 6 hours without offending someone there?

I have some serious problems... :(

Someone whose posts I was following on Miiverse (and I think she was following mine, too, until this happened) made a post about how she changed her Mii's shirt to match her new friend's shirt, and then in the comments, wrote "Ze orange works for me, no?" or something like that.

Another guy wrote, "Um...no." as a joke, which she understood was a joke before he came out and said that it was - she said, "So... red's more my color?"

This exchange made me think that I could make a joke as well and she'd understand it, so I made a handwritten comment that said something like this:

I think you should try THIS shade of orange:

...oh wait, Miiverse only has black-and-white drawings. :PIt was supposed to be a joke about how you can only make black-and-white drawings on Miiverse, but her friend (the one whose Mii's shirt she matched) came up and said something like, "Are you teasing the world's cutest Mii?!" and a little later, she (the original poster) said something like, "Matt... That was really mean ( ... )

No, she was kidding, she didn't really think it was mean, she was just teasing you.

I checked today and she said, "Matt, I forgive you." Which means that she was offended originally. Yes, she forgave me, but it goes to show that my ability to communicate clearly hasn't gotten much better in the past 5 years... :(
