Dissertation Report 1
As an accountability thing, I've decided to post video progress reports/thoughts/whatever about my dissertation. If it's good enough for people trying to quit drinking, it should be good enough for me. Thrill to my ramblings...hopefully they will get better.

All the hoops but one.
All my committee members have signed off on my dissertation proposal and it is now in process, so the time has come to start writing the thing.
I like my project -- I can send the proposal if anyone is interested -- but I'm a little daunted by the idea of writing a book-length anything. -

How I come across to non-medievalists
So I was in England last month, doing archival research and taking pictures of various wool churches in and around Sudbury and Long Melford. Since tongodeon is now an expat over there, we hung out as much as my flitting around the country allowed. McGraw Hill desk copies
Does anybody know, by any chance, if the McGraw Hill desk copies they try to foist off on us (the ones I'm thinking of are the ones that look like oversized catalogs/magazines and are printed in much the same way) are the same as those the students would get? Why what is going on in Texas matters.

Dumb question because I'm dumb.
When you guys write up abstracts/proposals for chapters to go into a book, what do they look like? How much do you include? I have an idea for a book someone is doing on modern medievalisms (as a summer/short term project that won't take away from the diss. too much) and they're interested, but I don't know the proper format to work it up. -
Last full week of classes.
So this is the last full week of the lit class I've been teaching. They're looking at a couple of different versions of Midsummer Night's Dream as an exercise in seeing how different directorial decisions change the performance, but by and large the bulk of the instruction is over.
