Interesting idea about Abel. Come to think of it, it might also explain why he keeps acting like he's about to die of starvation. By the by, thirteen sugars in tea don't turn into a pile of gloop. Then again, the incidents I'm basing this conclusion on did involve a bigger cup of tea and loose sugar rather then cubes.

Sorry to tell you this, but there's plenty more of Dr. Noh in future episodes and he gets squickier. If it's any consolation, you're not alone in your feelings if the number of fanfics which kill him off are anything to go by (my personal faves are when the cause of death is an experiment going pair shaped. Poetic justice at it's best). Also regarding the 'zanpaktou vs. wacky female energy vampire armed with an assault rifle retrofitted with a crossbow on top' thing. As I said before, shikai and bankai changes things a lot. I won't name names so as to avoid spoilers but fans have dubbed one Captain's bankai the 'banzooka' for fairly obvious reasons.

Mmm, we've got some tea cups that are about the same size as the one Abel uses in the frame that inspired the experiment, plus I know the store I work for still carries lump sugar/sugar cubes.

I'm tempted to go looking for some of these well-deserved Dr. Noh-bashing fic and I'm tempted to write one myself, but the jury is out as to who would do the bashing.
