Memo to me. The finger-picking pattern in "Landslide" runs across two measures.

This is the source of all your confusion. Well, that, and Lindsay Buckingham being better at this than most people.

...well, that, and the necessity of getting into the G/B with extreme speed and accuracy. Especially the B string, because you need it immediately ( Read more... )

Buckingham is a highly underrated master craftsman. He does things that look and sound effortless, until you actually try to cover him. Scary, brilliant man.

Whiskey is the seductive devil. Barre chords are the one with the pitchfork.

Do you watch Glee ever? They covered "Landslide" tonight. It was actually kinda sweet.

(P.S. Reading "The Sea Thy Mistress" and loving it so far.)

I have watched two episodes of Glee.

I wish they would give Jane Lynch back, or failing that, issue a DVD series of only her scenes, because I would like to shoot all the other characters in the face.

Um.

So I probably hate them for covering it. Sorry. :-(

(But glad you like the book!)

Aw, but it was a cute moment when the two girls who fool around "for fun" realize they have feelings for each other.

I think Glee actually does a decent job of normalizing non-hetero relationships.

Too bad Gwyneth Paltrow had to be in the middle of it. I don't really get why the show loves her.

I hate the fact that the characters we're supposed to care about are all amoral self-justifying assholes.

I'm pleased it manages not to be bigoted, but that doesn't make me want to watch it.
