I bring you so many good things today (and one sad one)! As if the universe is joining me in celebrating sending back the last few corrections on Grail (found an embarrassing continuity error at the last minute; hope I didn't break anything else fixing it, since I broke the continuity fixing something else) I have cover art for two other books in ( Read more... )

I absolutely adore that CD cover's design. The logo is perfect.

And I look forward to reading your novel when it becomes available to me. I'm not famous for loving difficult reads, but I like insightful fiction that the author felt was important.

Well, I don't think it's a difficult read: it's a pretty straightforward book. But it deals with some issues I've dealt with in real life, and that's always a gutwrencher to write.

The more so because one can't rely on others to have one's own triggers, so you have to think past that and write the framework into the book.

Duly noted.

I sometimes think that the ones that cut closest to the bone are the hardest reads (I may be wrong, or perhaps just a guy). I certainly feel that way about a book I wrote but haven't had the courage to go back and finish editing yet. Ulysses is a different kind of difficulty to Anna Karenina. Even The Bridges of Madison County is a bit of work to read on a certain level, despite being a pretty deliberate tear-jerker worthy of the Oprah Book Club. (Hope I didn't offend anyone with that)

The point is, verisimilitude makes the blows harder, and definitely makes the reading go slow, if you can identify with the writer's POV at all. But at least I keep reading. And I remember better.

I was trying to decide if it was a sword or a neon umbrella ;) (Manga has a lot to answer for when it comes to fantasy sword design)

OTOH I think the Metropolis Cascadia cover is absolutely gorgeous!

Thank you! I had nothing to do with it, but Tor's art department builds pretty books.

I keep reading your icon as "Let the Wookie stent" which would be something else entirely.
