Thanks for all the messages and emails. I thought i'd drop in and let you know that i'm okay. I was safe in my apartment, being on the first level, and I still had electricity and phone/internet access. But on Saturday, I choose to brave the hazardous outdoors and catch one of the last buses to Raymond Terrace so I could be with my family. We have

Thanks for sharing the video. My parents live on Hunter St but they flew to Melbourne on Saturday morning and didn't even mentioned that the street resembled a river on Friday night!

I haven't been into Newcastle since Friday, so I haven't seen any of the damage. I'm really curious though. I might go for a drive tomorrow and check it out.
