By the way, does anyone have any good experiences with pre-ordering Deathly Hallows?

With the 4 year old I decided not to pre-order, but I hear that everything ran smoothly at the Borders down here.

Yes. I didn't pick up until Saturday.

I think the smart ones didn't preorder and just went to Kroger or Meijer or other nonbookstore.

That's what I ended up doing. I haven't even picked up my book from USPS yet. Just grabbed one from Meijer.

I had a good experience.

I went to the midnight party at Barnes and Noble. We were divided into four groups (not sure whether it was based on when we preordered or when we arrived in the store that night - a friend preordered for me and beat me to the store.) I was in the third group, and I was out of the store with my book at 12:25.
