They gorge because it is their choice, but the food in this era is appalling to say the least. I think it's more sad that they must choose among lackluster options.

Irresponsible is the better term for them. Mm. But the options certainly are better than in a true prison where we have none.

Maybe that's the point. You might not have any of that food tomorrow, so... I guess it's better to be thankful and not take it for granted when you could be starving.

Sure, I love food. Assumin' it doesn't try to eat me before I can eat it. From what I've heard, the Thanksgivin' food here isn't too agreeable.

I don't know either of those places but it seems better than the alternative extreme.
