I can has Ka?

Specifically, this one on the AutoTrader site[ 1]. SB decided today that we ought to have one, and I had no real objection. Wasn't keen and enthusiastic mind, but I'm back in the car driving masses again. Just have to make sure I don't over use it &c...

Ooh, pretty colour! (That is my main standard of judgement for cars...) All sounds very good, though - I hope you get a lot of fun out of it.

Yeah, um, the colour of the car we went to see was chosen using the scientific method of SB asking Shrub "Which one do you like the sound of, the green one, the black one or the PURPLE one", putting added stress even though she knows her daughter well.

Does mean of course that getting there on Saturday will be nice and easy now, and we can just leave early so SB can get to work, no fussing &c. Which'll be nice.

Oh, cool! Well, the basic plan looks like being getting there sort of midday-ish in time for lunch, eating in the cafe there and then going round the house and gardens in the afternoon. I'll try to let you know when we'll be at an obvious place (e.g. in front of the cafe) nearer the time, so that you can find us.

Heh.
I only have a white one because it was the model I wanted and it was available there and then. For anything else there would have been a waiting time of several weeks.

Have fun with it!

Yay for new Ka! Sounds like a good buy there, especially if you didn't pay the full listed price. I'm glad you got something decent ie. not my old bomb of a car (which, incidentally, didn't have power steering or airbag, or CD player) wot I scrapped for £75, and it's a nice colour. I remember when I sold my previous car (G reg Mini Sky Blue) the guy said dark colours are easier to sell on, if of course you want to do that any time, or perhaps you'll just drive it until it breaks like I tend to do!

Every car I've had before now has fallen into disrepair and been junked, I don't see why this should be any different, especially given it's the cheapest I've ever bought one for as well.

stonefox84 used to have a Ka; it served her very well.

My first was a Fiesta, I was happy with it up until they switched out leaded petrol for LRP early and I couldn't fill up with sensible fuel-it blew a gasket half way to Bristol and died on me.

Ah well. Was a nice little beast.

I like my Ka, bits of it do fall off on occasion though. The front bumper got caught on something and is a bit flappy now! watch the brakes too, fors tend to wera down more quickly apparently.

It's about right for me I think-I always prefer small cars, and Fords are at least cheap to get parts for and similar. Boot is big enough for the dogs, which is what really matters.

High five to those who have bought a new car in the past week! I got mine off autotrader too, also didn't pay full listing price :D

As someone mentioned, nice colour :)

Cool, congrats and all-it's not my first car but it's over a year since I drove last, it's a bit weird getting back used to it.

Still spending all your London money you feelthy banker ;-)

Mmm, I agree on the weird, it's been about 2 years since I last drove too, and I've found I have completely lost the ability to parallel park.

Haha, it's almost all gone now, promise :P Not long before I am penniless student again...
