Philistines! Citizen Kane...

Right, yesterday I posted that top 100 films of the first 100 years of filmaking meme. It appears that many of you have yet to see the film at #1. It was bad enough that grrliz hadn't seen it, she posts more about films than she does about Harry Potter and web design, but you lot? You're supposed to be cultured people damnit!

Look, here's the deal. Read more... )

Definitely the best film ever made. It gets better each time I see it - though I haven't seen it in a while!

I bought the DVD on offer in Morrisons for less than a fiver, and it was great watching it again. I don't think I could over watch it, but every 6 months or so is good.

What? No Guido option? Worst poll ever!

Right. Certain polls should not be polluted.

And/or I forgot, along with two other options...

I'd agree with you, normally, that the Guido option should be left to XNet forums. But considering the way they've gone (ie, down the toilet), the Guido-poll-option-legend needs to find a new home.

Well, I have done it at least once (and got a genius description of Guido from Paul as a comment. But you have a paid account. As does Miss Freddie. And even a Basic account can switch types for the two minutes it takes to make a poll up and post it (Dot did it once).

So, y'know, get to it. Having said that, polls do seem to be popular, over 30 votes so far, that's more than I usually get.

I had to go with "ok for its age" as you kinda make a bit of an opinion jump *g* It's a fantastic film - not the best film ever for me, but a fantastic film.

Yeah, um, that would be the option I meant to put in. I knew there were some missing...

Yeah, the Set Text syndrome strikes again. I only ever enjoy the stuff they made you do at school after it's no longer part of a course. For example, Shakespeare is actually funny (I thought the teacher was lying).

If you like films, try to give it another viewing, just because it's worth it just to play spot the influence, so many films rip it off in one way or another watching the source is worth the effort. Bit like Python, not as funny as when they started, but mostly because we've seen it all in a more modern approach.

Yeah, that wou;d've been a good thing. And I previewed the poll twice this time.

Just goes to show, this is why journalists have editors.
