[A public question he'd rather not ask quite as publically as on the community.]

Not that it's a big deal or anything, 'n this is 100% pure curiousity, nothin' deep behind it or nothin', so don't think too much about it or you'll just make yer head hurt. But how common a name's "Dante" ?

eris, trish, sol, issei, matt, dante

I've never met anyone named that except the one man we have on the community. But I don't get out much.

These days? Uh, not so common. Rarely do ya hear of a name like that - no matter how you flip it.

hay, Greed. meet Dante's idkbff. tyrantraved April 13 2010, 15:41:44 UTC
Not really - usually the parent's got a sick sense of humor to name someone after the poet who supposedly went to Hell and back.

Why?

Oblivious!. Though, he's paranoid over a different Dante entirely. material_guy April 13 2010, 15:49:52 UTC
Pure curiosity. Just found out it's actually a guy's name. Interesting things y'learn when just askin' bored questions without a reason.

M'sure there're more people who'd give themselves that name than be given it....

Rightfully so, considering. :T tyrantraved April 13 2010, 16:00:56 UTC
Yeah, it is.

Yeah, but they're few and far between. Either they're nuts or just that goddamn arrogant.

It's a little more common then you might think, heh. Usually not used often, since the whole "trip to Hell" deal, but- you'd be surprised where it shows up when it does.

Some people probably pick it just for the trip to hell thing. Because they have fucked up naming senses and get off on that sorta thing. They're the kinda people who'd name their kids crazy shit like Envy.

You have no idea how hard Dante would laugh at that. theman_inred April 13 2010, 16:01:15 UTC
I don't think so- at least, not with my mother. Some other parents, sure. Can never tell what most people think nowadays, anyway.

If it ain't the Hot Chick!

'Ey, I hear it's actually mostly a dude's name. Any thoughts on it as a woman's name?

well he is correct! fillmydarksoul April 13 2010, 16:08:27 UTC
Hey there ... guy person!

Why not? I don't see why someone would name themselves Dante except to be really poetic.
