More than you ever wanted to know

Let me start by thanking those who commented on my last post, I really appreciate it. However, the count is far less than satisfying and I don't know who to blame. True, even if everyone would have commented, I'm far too hysterical technophobic to have assumed it was all some temporary mix up on LJ’s part. But everyone didn't. And that makes me ( Read more... )

Gaydar...I don't know. I like to subscribe to the 'if there's smoke, there's fire' thing (meaning there must be something akin to gaydar or the word wouldn't exist). Playing It Straight only lasted for about 2 episodes here (I think, I didn't watch it). However, I did watch Boy Meets Boy with completely dismal results. I could *not* figure out which were gay and which were straight. I think I got about three of them right.

At the same time, the first time I saw Boyzone, there was just something about Stephen that I couldn't quite put my finger on, then I found out he was gay. I don't really know if that was it or not, but maybe? *shrugs*

Heh. I didn't mean to go on and on like that. Lovely pic spam, and your captions cracked me up. *g*

The entire series was aired here. It was damn good, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Most people there either didn't fit the stereotypes or you'd never figure are out that they do. If that makes sense. ;P Best eps where 1st (when Jackie sends home 2 guys based on stereotypes and both turn out to be straight), 2nd or 3rd (I can't remember exactly, but it was the one where she sent Ryan home. Which was a pleasure by itself) and 5th, when she sent home the two most gorgeous guys there. And both turned out to be gay. *eg*

I haven't seen Boy Meets Boy. Did it at least have a happy ending? *hopes*

The thing about Playing It Straight is that I realized there were gay guys who didn't get me beeping. Not even a little. And though I had opinions regarding most of the people there, most turned out to be true, I found it very difficult to determine for sure once I had to take into account that they might be pretending. Which people do, for other reasons, in RL too. *pouts and is confused ( ... )

It caused a huge uproar here, and the station pulled it after a few episodes.

Boy Meets Boy...I retrospect, I think it was a bad idea. At the time, it seemed okay. But after a while, I got attached to James, the 'leading man' as they called him. He had no idea (until it was down to like 3) that not all of them were gay. He obviously felt betrayed, and knowing that he didn't approve of how the show handled everything sort of colored my view of it. I do know of one of the straight guys who felt so bad about it once the show had started that he went to the producers and asked to be taken off. So, no, it didn't have a happy ending ( ... )

A huge uproar? What about? It was sort of good for gays, in a way, because it showed that you couldn't rely on stereotypes. And while there was something disturbing about seeing everyone denying their gay like it's a plague, it was good when they left the show and could speak freely about how bad the closet is and how they hated it ( ... )

*is a young slash student* Gaydars? Explain? *blush*
That's one great picspam!! *huggles*

Oh, and sadly enough I don't have "Yes" and the only gay action I get to watch is in "Six Feet Under" which I don't get to watch a lot :( And even if I did have "Yes", watching "Queer as Folk" in my living room, with my mom and dad doesn't sound so tempting...

*huggles you*

Gaydar's slang for the feeling you get that someone's gay. As in a short for 'gay radar'. ;) And I am honored to introduce you to the term!

I'm so glad that you liked the picspam! *cuddles*

No! Yes have many a wonderful gay stuff. QAF, Queer Eye for the Straight Guy (which is parents safe), The L word and many gay-themed movies on the movie channels.

If you ever feel like dropping by Netanya...! *smooches you*

Ohhhh...I thought it might be something like that...Because of the radar part :P I think I can recognize gay men (and women) but I've never met enough to prove it...

I have a slasher friend, and she has Yes and she keeps telling me about those shows...Too bad I live so far away from her...

I might actually take on that invite! *hugs&smooches* ^_^

*chuckles* We can always take you down to The Shooshan and put your gaydar to test! ;)

Yes has the most amazing content. Make her parents adopt you! *eg*

If you do, poke me and I'll give you a number and an adress. Because stalking's not as cool as it used to be. ;P *cuddles and kisses*
