I like noses. Whenever I look at a person's face lately I notice the nose more than anything else. I think it's a habit I picked up from drawing ( Read more... )

I went through stuff like that too. It just takes time, and once you have a firm love and belief in yourself, or, once you reach the bottom (which is kind of what happened to me) you can only go up. I felt really shitty at college for a while and I realized that it wasn't even that bad, having no friends. Then once I realized this, that the worse that could happen to me was that I could be alone and crying, then it wasn't such a scary thing anymore, and I began to reach out to people.

reach out, through INTERNET PERSONALS!

you meet nice people.

I think Kelley is setting me up with her friend.

Wow, I'm a bit buzzed and cannot write. This is bad because I still have a two page peer responce essay to write tonight. I probably should be doing that.

Does it help at all to say I know what you mean? I have the same trouble...I have some friends here but none I would say I am as close to as, say, the Bathhousians, or any of my older friends. It's hard. I'd say, just challenge yourself, decide just for one day to be overtly friendly.
Of course you already know all that, so...
All I can say is I love you and I miss you and I have great faith that you'll find fabulous people over there at college. Go forth. :)

Funny how recognizable that all sounds... except for the bit about the noses... I have the perception of a blunt log.

College is a great way to make friends you would otherwise never had the pleasure of knowing. You took the first step in challenging yourself to it, I'd say you're on the right track. Just keep it up. :)
