Chapter 7:

Kazunari sighed as the limousine pulled away from the ski resort and brought them to the airport where they’ll take a domestic flight back to the mansion in Tokyo. He didn’t want to leave as that’ll mean the end of all the fun. And when fun ends, torture begins.

He had completely forgotten about the classes on dancing, etiquette and such that his grandfather had made him take. And the worst part was that Jun would be the one teaching him. He sighed once more.

“Kazunari, are you alright?” asked Sho worriedly, placing a comforting arm on his shoulder.

“I know why you’re sighing!” giggled Masaki, “you just don’t want to go back to school like me!”

Kazunari tried not to sigh the third time. Going back to school was another thing which he had completely forgotten about. It’s not that he didn’t like going to school, it’s just that he’ll be transferring out of Ichinomiya and going to some school for the children of the richest and the most famous. His stomach started churning at the thought of attending a new school -  he won’t know anybody (except the four of them), but Satoshi, Sho and Masaki were in a different level, and that leaves him with Jun. Kazunari crossed his fingers and prayed that they won’t be in the same class.

“You boys are back,” remarked Lord Ninomiya the moment they stepped into the mansion.

“Ojii-chan,” “Lord Ninomiya,” they greeted.

“How was your trip? Did you bully my grandson?” he asked jokingly.

“Why would we want to bully someone as adorable as Kazunari,” replied Sho, making Kazunari turn beetroot.

The old man nodded, satisfied that his precious grandson was safe, “now that you’re back, Kazunari, it’s time to begin your classes,”

Kazunari tried to stifle a groan.

“I’ve already arrange for you to learn ball room dancing with Jun,” began the old man, “but you can also seek help from the other three,”

Kazunari sighed in relief, at least he could go to the others for help.

“Go get some rest,” instructed Lord Ninomiya, “you’re first class starts tonight,”

Kazunari let out a yelp as a leg seemed to appear out of nowhere, tripping him. He landed on the polished wooden floor with a soft thud and Kazunari knew that there was yet another bruise forming on his already injured leg.

“You did that on purpose!” cried Kazunari, glaring at Jun with the maximum amount of hatred he could muster.

“Oh please, you didn’t see where you’re going,” replied Jun coolly, standing there looking down at Kazunari without even bothering to offer him a hand, “you’re grandfather would have my head if I mistreated you,”

Seeing that he wasn’t going to get any help in standing up, Kazunari pushed himself off the floor, wincing as he accidentally hit a bruise on his forearm. Pouting, he grumbled, “then he should have had your head a long time ago,”

Jun was at a loss for word. Not because he had been driven to a corner in their battle of words, but because of the way Kazunari was pouting. Jun tried to deny that his heartbeat increased ten folds as he watched Kazunari nurse in injuries. He badly wanted to stop everything and treat his wounds, but Jun knew he had to play the ‘bad guy’ if he wanted to get out of the place.

“Once more,” said Jun coldly, grabbing Kazunari by his hand and his waist as the two of them continued with their lesson.

As they were dancing in time to the music, Kazunari was busy staring at his feet, making sure he didn’t trip again, making him completely oblivious to the pair of eyes staring at him. Actually, those eyes were staring at his head since Kazunari was looking downwards, but that was enough to drive Jun crazy. Being pressed so closely to Kazunari and having his hand and waist in his, Jun felt his hands turn clammy and his blood pumped faster. The last time he felt that way was that night when he and Toma were out star-gazing, before he knew his true intentions.

Jun sighed as he realized the irony of the situation. He didn’t want to admit it, but he knew he was falling for the Ninomiya family’s little prince. Oh the irony, liking a person and trying to make that someone hate him!

“Stop sighing! I’m trying my best already!” groaned Kazunari.

Jun snapped out of his day dream. He wasn’t really sighing because Kazunari was dancing poorly, in fact, he was doing a rather good job considering that it was his first lesson, but since Kazunari thought that way.

“Your best isn’t good enough,” snapped Jun, “your party is in less than a months time, as much as I love having you make a fool of yourself that day, I don’t want anybody saying that I’m a terrible teacher,”

“Well, you are a horrible teacher,” replied Kazunari, “if you were any better, I would have gotten these steps right hours ago!”

“Isn’t it the student’s fault it he can’t get the steps right even after the teacher had taught him countless times?”

“You haven’t taught me this dance countless times, only twice!”

If anybody were there watching the two, they would have been pretty amused seeing two bodies dance so harmoniously while the two heads throw insults back and forth.

Jun tried to think of something witty in reply to Kazunari’s last statement. With his focus somewhere else, Jun messed up his steps and he ended up with his right foot behind Kazunari’s left. Seeing that he had made a mistake, Jun tried to draw his foot back before Kazunari tripped on it, but it was too late. Jun, who had a hand around Kazunari’s waist and grabbing Kazunari’s hand with the other, didn’t have time to release his grip, and coupled with his leg stuck behind Kazunari’s, couldn’t do anything other than fall to the ground.

“Ouch,” whined the two as their bodies came into contact with the ground. Actually, Kazunari’s body came into contact with the floor, Jun fell right on top of the smaller man.

Sandwiched in between the floor and Jun, Kazunari was trapped. Jun noticed that too, but instead of getting off the smaller man, Jun laid there in a trance, staring at the beautiful face in front of him. How he wished that he wasn’t the unofficially chosen successor of the Ninomiya cooperation and that Kazunari was the grandson of the current boss. Things would be perfect.

“Jun?” asked Kazunari timidly, blushing so badly, “Jun!”

Rudely snapped out of his thoughts, Jun rolled over. With his hand on his chest trying to slow down his breathing, Jun choked out, “end of lesson,” and as quickly as he could, Jun got up and ran out of the room.

Kazunari got up slowly, rubbing his aching back. That was the second time he and Jun had ended up in such an awkward position, and Kazunari hoped that that was the last of it, he didn’t want to be anywhere near an evil person like Jun, dancing with him was enough to make him fear for his life.

He was about to get up and leave as well, when he spotted something black against the light brown floor. Walking up to the object, Kazunari picked it up. It had to be Jun’s since there were only two of them in the room, but Kazunari wanted to make sure…so with a grin on his face, Kazunari opened the wallet.

What he saw inside was terribly odd.

“I didn’t know Jun had a girlfriend,” said Kazunari to himself, looking at the photo of a young lady inside Jun’s wallet.

“That’s my sister!” answered someone, the wallet snatched out of his hands.

Jun hurriedly stuffed his wallet into his pocket. He didn’t want to return to the dance room, but his suddenly light pocket made him check and realized that his wallet had gone missing.

“Why do you have a picture of your sister in your wallet?” asked Kazunari out of curiosity, “isn’t that kinda weird?”

“That’s none of your business,” snapped Jun, leaving the room.

Exiting as well, Kazunari tried to fit his new clue into the puzzle as he returned to his room. When he arrived at his room, he still couldn’t get any answers.

“Kazu! You’re back!” welcomed an enthusiastic voice which could only belong to Masaki.

“Masaki? What are you doing here?”

“I was thinking that since our holidays are almost over, we should make good use of it,” started the honey-haired man, “wanna hang out at the arcade with me tomorrow?”

Kazunari nodded.

“Good! I’ll see you tomorrow then!” said Masaki, making his way of the room.

“Masaki! Wait!” cried Kazunari out of the blue.

“Yes?”

“Do you know anything about Jun’s sister?” he asked, hoping that his question didn’t sound weird to the older man.

“Jun’s sister…?” Masaki repeated, “I only know that she’s older than him, and I think she passed away quite some time ago,”

“Thanks, Masaki,”

The older man beamed at him before leaving the room. Slumping on his bed, Kazunari concluded that Jun was abnormally obsessed with his sister because she had passed away, but that doesn’t explain why Jun hates him. With a throbbing head, Kazunari hauled the blankets over his head and tried his best to fall asleep.
