Chapter 8:
“Oi! Nino!” yelled Sho enthusiastically, shaking the small frame buried under layers of blanets, “wake up!”
Sho heard Nino stir but still refuse to officially wake up. Guess there is only one way to get him out of bed.
“Ohno is taking you out on a date~” Sho sang cheerfully, yanking the covers off Nino in one swoop.
Mentioning Ohno’s name worked like a charm, it managed to get Nino’s attention. Mentioning that Nino had a date with Ohno was a miracle. Before he knew it, Nino was up on his feet, and using the wall as a guide to the toilet.
Sho could only chuckle. It had been quite sometime since he saw Nino this chirpy, and he was determined to ensure that Nino stayed like that forever.

Jun placed his hands on his hips as he tried to find the best way to wake the snoring figure on the bed in front of him. Yelling at him or using an alarm clock would not work. From experience, Jun knew it was impossible to wake Ohno up.
He sighed.
Grabbing Ohno by his shoulders, Jun shook him as gently as he could to at least half-wake. By some divine intervention, Ohno’s eyes opened a bit.
When Jun finally got Ohno’s undivided attention, Jun signed, “Ninomiya asked you out on a date,”
If Ohno’s hair could get any spikier, it would have, as Ohno felt a rush of electricity flowing through him. Had he read correctly? Nino asked him out? He had to be dreaming. Seeing Ohno’s doubtful face, Jun could only sigh and repeat his message.
For the first time in his life, Jun saw Ohno energetically jumped out of bed and headed straight to the bathroom. Jun smirked to himself.
In no time at all, Ohno was dressed and ready to go. Anxiously waiting on the couch, Ohno tried to figure out why Nino would suddenly ask him out when Nino made it very clear it was impossible for them to be together, but seriously, who cares? Jun told him Sakurai was going to drop Nino off at his studio, and Ohno was the one to decide where they would be going for date.
Ohno saw Jun look up from his magazine, probably because there was someone knocking on the door. He squirmed excitedly in his seat as Jun went over and opened the door.
At the door, was Nino, with Sakurai behind him. Ohno thought Nino looked adorable today, not that he did not look adorable on any other days, its just that there was something different in the air today.
Ohno knew it was going to be the best day of his life.

Nino absent mindedly played with his seat belt as he and Ohno made their way to wherever Ohno wanted to take him to.
He tried to figure out what Ohno was doing at the other side of the cab, but the sound of the driver drumming against the steering wheel muffled any noise Ohno made, that’s if he made any sound at all.
Nino hoped they were going somewhere good, anywhere is fine, with the exception of art galleries and the movies. Soon enough, Nino felt Ohno poking him in the shoulder, telling him they had arrived.
With a huge smile on his face, Nino got out of the cab, all fidgety and energized. But that was until he realized where they were.
It was going to be a disastrous day.
It didn’t take long for Nino to figure out their location. The sound of waves crashing, the constant howling of the wind, seagulls squawking away, unless there was someplace else with all these sounds, they were at a beach.
Nino tried to mask his sadness as he recalled what Ohno said about liking fishing. It was his first date with Ohno, and Nino was going to try his best to make things happy for Ohno, despite him detesting the beach. Why? The answer was very simple. He had sea-sickness, and would feel nauseous whenever he was near a beach.
Nino smiled dryly as he recalled what happened during his first and last trip to the beach. The producers wanted him to hold a concert on a floating stage in the middle of the ocean. Nino knew he should have trusted his instincts. He could not really remember what actually happened, but it ended with him throwing up for hours, and Sho apologizing profusely to all the disappointed audiences.
Nino snapped out of his day-dream as he felt Ohno grab his bandaged hand. Together, they walked in the direction of the crashing waves. Nino bit his lips, hoping they would stay on shore. As long as he was on dry land, his would be fine, save for the nauseating feeling.
But the world seems to hate him even more that day. Nino felt his cane tapping against something wooden and not sand. Which only means they were on a dock. Could it be? Ohno was going to bring him on a boat?
Butterflies started appearing in Nino’s stomach as he tried to find a way out of this. He wanted Ohno to be happy, he really did, but going onto a boat was just too much.
“This is going to be really fun!” cried Ohno, tugging at Nino’s hand more eagerly than he did at first.
If Ohno really wanted to go boating, Nino could try to not be sea-sick…
But seriously, who was he kidding? The moment he stepped onto the rocking boat, Nino’s legs felt like they were turning into jelly, but for Ohno’s sake, he will endure.
About half and hour out at sea, Nino could not stand any further and had to sit down, lying to Ohno about not being able to balance properly as he did so. Barely being able to tell Ohno to continue fishing, Nino felt around for a seat. His head started spinning like crazy and his stomach felt funny. Nino gripped the seat tightly hoping the pain in his fingers would take his mind of his throbbing head.
This torture seemed to last for ages as he tried to ignore the dizziness by focusing on Ohno’s merry laughter, but even that only lasted a while.
“Nino!” cried Ohno happily as Nino felt Ohno’s hands on his shoulders, “wanna try fishing?”
Nino nodded weakly. If him fishing made Ohno happy, he would gladly do so.
Ohno placed the rod in Nino’s hands, and grabbing them firmly with his own, so that Nino was sandwiched rather tightly in behind him and his fishing rod. In Ohno’s arms, Nino’s dizziness and the urge to throw up vanished into thin air. Time came to a complete stop as Nino leaned further and further back in Ohno.
