AN: LAST CHAPTER! I promise this is going to be awesome!
Chapter 19:
“Come on,” muttered Jun, applying more force on a pair of scrawny sticks as he tried to primitively light a fire. But sadly to no avail.
Jun forcefully threw the sticks on the sand and sighed. Just a few moments ago, he was desperately swimming against the currents in an attempt to get back to the shore, but the waves pushed him even further away. Before he knew it, Jun ended up being washed ashore together with Nino. Jun looked at the unconscious Nino, whose face was so pale, if Jun couldn’t get Nino warmed up, who knows if he’ll survive the night. Just as all hopes were lost, Jun have a brilliant idea.
He had no idea who, what, why, when or how he managed to come up with something as weird as this idea of his, but either ways, he did, “Let’s go to Lawson,”
Trekking through the dense forest with Nino on his back, Jun headed in a direction which he thinks would lead them to Lawson. Like in those commercials, Jun finally got to the edge, and could see a small kiosk-like building through the gaps in the leaves.
He ran.
“Is anybody here?” he called out, finding it strange that the lights and air conditioning were on.
“Welcome!” shouted a voice from behind the counter. A quite muscular man popped up from behind the counter, in his hands were bags of frozen karage.
“Jun…?”
“Pi…?”
Jun nearly dropped Nino in surprise, as he saw his childhood friend standing right there. Who would have thought he would meet up with his childhood friend at the most random of places and the most awkward of timing?
Pi flashed Jun a nervous smile while picking up a box of hot fried chicken. He jumped over the counter, not caring if he dirtied it with his shoes, and rushed over. Taking the burden, which came in the form of Nino, off Jun’s shoulder, Pi gave Jun a reassuring smile, telling him to eat up.
So while the ravenous Jun was gracefully gobbling his food, Pi laid Nino onto a spare futon in the storage.
“I hope you don’t mind sleeping in the storeroom,” said Pi sheepishly, “It’s the only room available,”
“Thanks, Pi,” mumbled Jun, but Pi heard it. Just like that, the 20 over years worth of tension between the two vanished in the blink of an eye.
“So what brings you here?” asked Pi, getting a cup of coffee from the dispenser.
“I was washed ashore. You?”
“I decided to open a fast food chain here,” answered Pi, “Oh, and introducing my colleagues,” noticing four other man standing close by, looking at the pair with large curious eyes.
“That’s Koyama,” said Pi, pointing to a tall man with brown hair, “That’s Shige,” He continued, gesturing at another man, shorter than the first and had spiky-ish black hair, “Massu,” Pi carried on, nodding to a chubby coffee-brown haired man who beamed at Jun, “and that’s…”
But before Pi could introduce the last guy, Jun cried in shock, “you’re Nino’s stepfather, aren’t you? Oikawa Sousuke!”
The fourth man rolled his eyes, “I’m NISHIKIDO RYO!! And remember that!” he folded his arms and gave Jun a death glare which was not as good as Jun’s.
Jun nodded an apology and decided that it was best to go to bed.

“Jun?” asked Nino sleepily, finding himself on a soft futon. The last thing he remembered was falling into the sea, but after that, everything was a blur. Nino sat up and looked at his unfamiliar surroundings. Was he in a storage room? From a puny window at the top of a wall, Nino saw the dark sky and a full moon.
It was only a few seconds later when Nino realized Jun was huddled in a corner, his whole body trembling like an earthquake. Jun noticed Nino starring at him.
“Ninomiya….”
“What?”
Jun didn’t reply. Instead, he pushed himself towards Nino, a lusty expressions all over his face.
“If you try anything fishy, I won’t forgive you!” yelled Nino as he fumbled with the zipper of his damp jacket.
“I…..” stumbled Jun, as he continued moving closer. All of a sudden, Jun’s arms collapsed underneath him, causing him to land on…oh, a certain someone named Nino.
Nino did not expect the sudden ‘attack’ and instinctively pushed Jun off him. He was about to give Jun a piece of his mind when he saw the other tossing and turning on the floor, gulping for air like a fish out of water.
Without hesitating, he placed his hand on Jun’s forehead, yelping when his cool hand come into contact with Jun’s burning skin. Reaching for the medical kit on a nearby shelf, Nino pulled out a familiar blue box and tore it open.
“Open your mouth,” commanded Nino as he tenderly propped up Jun’s head onto his lap.
“Why?”
“It’s just medicine,” replied Nino, now searching for his water bottle.
“If it wasn’t prescribed by my doctor…”
“Shut up and do as you’re told!” snapped Nino, dropping two white tablets into Jun’s mouth, followed by some water.
“I’m sure someone will come for us in the morning,” assured Nino and he took off his jacket and delicately covering Jun with it.
“Aren’t you cold?”
“Trust me, I’m used to it,”
“Haven’t I done this before…?” asked Jun drowsily, but he didn’t heard Nino’s reply as the effect of the medicine took over, lulling Jun in a deep slumber, with a pair of arms wrapped around him tightly as he drifted off.

“Jun!” yelled Pi, flinging the door open. But the first thing he saw was Jun and that other guy with him last night, tangled in what looked like a rather intimidate position.
“Pi?” muttered Jun, his eye lids fluttering open.
Jun noticed Pi gaping at him, or rather, them, so he simply said, “I don’t think I’ve introduced you to Nino yet. Pi, this is Nino, my one and only boyfriend,”
Nino smirked under the blankets.
Pi nodded and told Jun they were going to have breakfast soon. Breakfast, a very tempting offer to the Nino whose last meal was yesterday’s lunch. So, out of the storeroom Jun and Nino went, desperately wanting something to fill his stomach.
But when they got there, Nino got the shock of his life, “Oikawa-san…!” stuttered Nino, not believing his eyes.
“WHAT’S WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE?” yelled the Oikawa-look-alike, flinging an empty box on the floor, “MY NAME IS NISHIKIDO RYO!!!”
Nino smiled shamefacedly at his mistake, and nodding an apology to a fuming Ryo. But that wasn’t the only thing that make Nino’s heart stop beating due to shock.
“Masuda-san?” asked Nino, “What are you doing here?”
“Hi, Nino-kun!” beamed Massu, “I work here,”
“But your name card said you worked at Never-Ending-Wonderful-Saloon?” argued Nino, glancing at the menus which proudly displayed the shop’s name.
“The name was changed,” lied Massu, beaming.

After breakfast and a round of polite exchange, Jun and Nino found themselves on Pi’s personal jet ski, heading back to mainland. Jun was sitting at the front, navigating their way through the waters, while Nino was at the back, both arms around Jun’s waist on the pretext of being scared he’ll fall off.
“I’ll miss that place,” smiled Nino, burying his head further into Jun’s back.
“Me too,” replied Jun. As if on cue, both of them turned around to take one last look at the island, when they got yet another shock of their lives: the island was gone.
“Must have travelled quite some distance,” reasoned Jun, his eyes now back on the ‘road’.
It wasn’t long before they found themselves on dry land, which Nino was grateful for.
“Jun! Nino!”
Running towards them at lightning speed as Aiba, followed by Sho, then Ohno.
“You know how worried we were?” demanded Sho, once he reached the pair, examining the both of them to make sure they were fine.
“Very worried?” replied Nino and Jun sarcastically, at the same time.
As if being shocked 3 times within half and hour wasn’t enough for Nino. Jun contributed the 4th one by grabbing him tightly by the shoulder and staring at him face to face, “Nino, stay here until 7plus. I’ll be going to Tokyo Dome now. You are not to go anywhere near until 8 o’clock, or I’ll kill you,”
With that, Jun crushed his lips on Nino’s.
Make that the 5th one.
After a short make out session, much to Nino’s disappointment, by the beach with the sunrise as the back drop. Jun hurried off into his waiting limousine, and drove off.
Nino stood there gaping at the trail of smoke left behind by Jun’s limo, not sure if he should be glad that Jun remembered him or pissed that he left so suddenly.
“Er…Nino-kun?” said Tegoshi who seemed to have appeared randomly on the spot, “I’m sorry for trying to steal Jun from you,”
Well, Jun is his now, so ultimately Tegoshi lost. It’s not like it’ll hurt to forgive him. Tegoshi grinned from ear to ear when he heard Nino saying he’ll forgive him. He did a happy dance before running towards the Pi’s jet ski which Jun left on the shore, and drove off until he became a tiny speck on the sea.
Meanwhile, Nino, Sho, Aiba and Ohno were left standing dumbfounded.

It was fifteen minutes before 8pm and Nino was no where near Tokyo. After Jun and Tegoshi left, Nino decided to spend the rest of the day in the arcade, making use of the facilities that Sho spent a million yen to rent. It wasn’t till he finished the entire game nine times, when he realised it was a few minutes past 7.
Cursing the rest for not calling him soon, Nino rushed around the resort like a mad person, trying to locate at least one of them, but to no avail. All the rooms he checked were deserted, all the corridors empty. Demoralised, Nino went back to his room to pack his stuff, and saw a train ticket and a note: Dear Nino, First of all, don’t kill us, since Jun was the one who made us to this. Enclosed is a ticket to Tokyo. See you at Tokyo Dome! Love, Sho, Aiba and Ohno.
Nino rolled his eyes in annoyance and he proceeded to dump his stuff in his bag.
Now on the train, Nino closed his eyes and tried to figure out what Jun was planning. But the only thing that came to mind was that he forgot to tell his new boss that he was quitting.
Oh well.
Just 5 mintues before 8, the train arrived at the Tokyo station and Nino was in a cab in the blink of an eye. He shouted his destination to the driver who looked at him with a hint of amusement.
Oh great. Traffic jam. At this rate, Nino could be considered lucky if he made it there before midnight. But, luckily for Nino, a knock was heard on the taxi door. Looking out, he saw Nishida, standing in the middle of a road of congested cars, beckoning to Nino to exit the cab. Nino gave a wad of cash to the driver (he was going to claim the taxi fare from Jun later), and followed Nishida to a limousine.
He was gently pushed in, and for the 6th time that day, Nino nearly died of a heart attack when he found himself face to face to none other than Mastumoto Kaeda.
“Get us to Tokyo Dome,” she instructed the driver, looking as if she did not notice Nino’s presence. Nino was still too stunned to speak.
As though some divine intervention had occurred, the cars in front of him squeezed to the side, forming a path wide enough of Kaeda’s limousine to pass through.
“Thank you,” muttered Nino.
Kaeda simply looked ahead.
Even without the jams, Nino only managed to get there fifteen mintues past 8. Jun is going to be so mad at him! Once he exited the limo, not before thanking Kaeda profusely, Nino followed the glow-in-the dark arrows pasted on the walls, which he assumed led to where Jun wanted to meet him.
Finally, Nino came to a double door. Taking a deep breathe, he pushed them open, and found himself in a dark ballroom-ish place, only lighted up by the starry sky. The whole place of completely empty! Not even a single thing was in the spacious place.
Nino thought this was a joke played by the others and was about to turn and leave, when the doors slammed shut in his face. Having no where else to go, Nino walked forward, mentally preparing himself for whatever that was going to happen, for example, a hole in the floor, a cake thrown at his face, and ‘zombie’ jumping out at him etc.
But what he predicted happened was not what Jun had planned. When he had walked quite some distance, and starting to doubt himself for showing up, a spotlight came on in the blink of an eye, revealing Jun who was standing just meters in front of him.
“Jun?”
Awkward silence.
“Nino!” Jun yelled across the ballroom.
“Yes?”
“I have something to tell you,”
“What is it?”
Another round of awkward silence.
“Let’s get married!”
Nino was taken aback at Jun’s randomness.
“Marry me,” Jun reiterated, stretching out his hand.
Like how a moon draws water, like how a moth is drawn to a light, like how a Ninomiya Kazunari is drawn towards a Matsumoto Jun, Nino’s feet started moving on their own.
Step by step, the distance between them became smaller and smaller, while the thumping of Nino’s heart became faster and faster. Time slowed to a nauseating crawl, as Nino took the last few steps needed to reach Jun’s side.
“We’ve taken so many detours,” began Jun once Nino was in front of him, sounding as if had memorised his lines by heart, “I’ve put you through so much pain. But I still wanna be with you,”
“Marry me,”
Nino faked a pout, “What? No wedding ring?” he asked, trying to tease Jun. But it looks like Jun came prepared, “Why get a ring when I can give you this?” he asked pointing to the top of the roofless dome.
There, dancing across the sky, so bright it could blind, were the Leonid meteor showers. Their Leonid meteor showers.
While Nino was too busy admiring the showers, Jun took the opportunity and pressed himself to Nino.
“I’m still waiting for your reply,” prompted Jun.
“I accept,” replied Nino, flushing the colour of a tomato.
Just as those words left his mouth, the lights came on, confetti started pouring down, and a huge crowd of friends bursts into an applause.
“Congratulations, Nino-kun,” said Tsukasa appearing from nowhere.
Flabbergasted, Nino clung onto Jun, “what’s going on?” he asked.
“This is my proposal to you,”
Nino grinned.
“Congratulation!” yelled to voices, belonging to Aiba and Sho who entered the scene hand in hands, “We should totally have a double wedding!” suggested Aiba.
“Make that a triple wedding,” came a distinguished sleepy voice.
“Triple?” questioned the four, wondering who the sixth person was. Ohno smiled and step to the side, to reveal a beaming Toma.
“Toma-kun?” gasped the other four.
Toma grinned, “After I broke up with Jun, Oh-chan and I started hanging out,” he explained, clinging on to a blushing Ohno’s left arm.
Once the 3 couples were done sorting things out, a song started playing.
“Can I have this dance?” asked Jun, leaning in to steal a quick kiss.
“Only if you let go of me so I can breath properly,” laughed Nino.
So the 6 of them began waltzing around the ball room, the spectators at the side filled with envy.
“Jun?” began Nino, as Jun guided him through the dance steps, “why did your mother decide to accept me?”
“Cause she can’t help but like you?”
“Seriously,”
Jun paused as the first song ended, “I heard onii-chan said something about a Masuda guy, who you saved, wanting to business with us. That’s all I know,”
Nino nodded, making a mental note to thank Massu. As Nino thought to himself, Jun made use of that split second to carry Nino, bridal style.
“Starting from today, I’m going to make you super happy each and every day!”
“You already do,”
No other words were needed as Jun and Nino closed the meagre gap between them, their lips meeting.
AN: ENDED (not counting epilogue). Was it sastifying? I hope it was. Now, you're going to make a very important decision: there is an epilogue, two actually, but i don't advice you to read them, it could kill the whole thing. You can choose to read 1 epilogue only, it's fine with me. But if you wanna read both, i suggest reading the first one first.
Thanks for reading my entire series!
