Chapter 13:
“Why?”
Nino found himself seated in Ohno’s room, dressed in a soft cotton bathrobe.
“Sho-chan told me he met an interesting guy,” replied Ohno, searching for a tux in his wardrobe which would fit Nino, “the moment I saw you, I knew it was you,”
Giving Nino another sleepy grin, Ohno pulled out a baby blue coloured tux and walked to Nino.
“You must mean a lot to Sho-chan,” continued Ohno, pulling out the tux from its transparent plastic cover, “Sho-chan rarely goes so far to do such a thing. Perhaps Sho-chan likes you,”
Nino felt his cheeks turn red as he tried to hide it from Ohno. Luck for Nino, Ohno isn’t the observant kind.
“I think theses shoes suit you really well,” said Ohno, completely off topic, as he strode towards his shoe cabinet, “Ok, hurry up and get changed, you don’t want to miss the party, do you?”
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
To Ohno’s rhetorical question, Nino wanted to reply, “Yes, I would love to miss the party,” but it looks like he didn’t have much of a choice right now.
Nino reached out to grab the railings, hoping they would prevent him from tripping over himself due to nervousness. He had glanced into Ohno’s full length mirror seconds before they left the room and Nino had no idea who that gorgeous looking man staring back at him was.
Nino swore he hear a loud gasp as he and Ohno made their way down the stairs, if he wanted to run for it, now’s a good time, but Nino’s legs were too stiff to comply. Hundreds pairs of eyes stared at him, some in awe, some filled with jealously, but Nino couldn’t care less as most of his attention was focused on his pounding heart.
Time flies when you’re having fun. Nino could vouch that it wasn’t true. Walking down those gruelling steps appeared to have taken only a split second.
“You look cute,” complimented Sho, walking up to Nino. Everyone else seemed to have disappeared as Nino smiled sheepishly at Sho. It was the first time anyone had complimented him and Nino was in seventh heaven, when he was shot down.
“Sakurai Sho! Who gave you permission to talk to him?” demanded Jun, storming up towards the both of them, “You know I hate him like crap!”
“You’re being too harsh as usual,” said Ohno, coming to Sho’s defence, “Don’t you think he looks cute too?”
Jun marched up to Ohno and Nino sending both a death glare, “Even if it’s you, Ohno, I won’t forgive you for speaking to me that way!”
“I can’t forgive you for speaking to Ohno that way either,” replied Sho coolly although his expression said otherwise, placing himself protectively in between the two parties.
Nino saw Jun scrunch up his face in disgust as he raised his fist, punching Sho in the face. At the impact, Sho stumbled a few feet backwards. He regained his composure, straightened himself and gave Jun the ‘is-this-the-best-you-can-do’ look. Being the high and mighty person that he is, Jun instinctively lurch forward ready to give Sho another punch.
“Stop!”
Jun felt someone grabbed him from the back causing him to lose his footing. The time taken for him to fall to the ground took forever. Closing his eyes to brace himself for the impact, Jun felt himself landing on something rather soft, which was definitely not the floor.
He opened his eyes in a hurry, hoping what he thought happened, did not actually happen. Jun stared at the guy underneath him, wondering who this really handsome guy was, when he realised it was the stupid hamburger guy who he had hated.
Jun let out a gasp upon the realisation, only to hear his gasp being muffled by Nino’s lips.
