Title: When you push the switch

Author: Masuhisa

Pairings: Ohmiya (main), Sakumiya, Junma (slight)

Summary: In the near future, the government has set a project to find out why teens commit suicide. Kids at the age of ten are sent to centers and given a switch which would kill them instantly when pressed. Only 4 of the thousands managed to survive, and the professor in charge wants to get rid of them as quickly as possible…..

Disclaimer: Since I can’t come up with a witty disclaimer, I’ll just stick to the usual ones. I don’t own Arashi or Johnny. The fic is based on Yamada Yusuke’s novel of the same name.

Chapter 1:

Silence deafened everyone present in the room. The soft pitter-patter of rain hitting the ground could be heard through the thick white-washed walls. Shadows stood near the walls as they watch the corpse being covered with a piece of white cloth.

One down, four to go.

The professor and his assistant loaded the body onto a trolley and wheeled it away, leaving the four of them standing in silence.

“Screw the government,” spat the youngest of the four, Jun, banging the wall with his fist.

The rest nodded in agreement.

It wasn’t their fault they were there. Nobody in their right mind would want to come anywhere near this place. It smelt of suffering and death.

“They’re just a bunch of selfish heartless jerks,” added Ninomiya, also known as Nino, the second youngest.

It was their seventh year there. Seven years of misery. Seven years of pure torture. Seven years of watching lives being taken away.

“It’s okay guys,” said Aiba cheerfully, the optimist of the group despite being paralyzed waist down, “we did promise to not push our switches,”

“Maybe we should go out to the gardens and play game or something,” suggested Sho.

Sho, the eldest and the most sensible, wanted to lead his friends somewhere else. Somewhere where they could be just forget about their current situation and just live like normal teenagers.

“Sho-kun,” said Jun, “We’re not the ten year olds that we were at the start of all this anymore! We’re seventeen for heaven’s sake!”

But deep down, everybody knew the garden was the only place in the entire centre which looks decent enough, the only place where they could relax and be free for a meager amount of time.

The centre where they were kept was like a prison. Or maybe worse. At least in a prison, there were more then four people around, and the prisoners would be free one day, unlike the four kids who were trapped there until the day they died.

“One less brat to handle,” sighed Professor Johnny H. Kitagawa, as he collapsed into his seat.

“Johnny-san,” said his assistant, “There’s a phone call for you, it’s from the head branch,”

Johnny immediately sat up straight and placed the phone by the side of his face.

“Moshi moshi,”

“Good evening, Johnny,” greeted the person on the other end, “We’re calling to inform you that we have collected enough data for this project,”

“That’s great,” grinned Johnny, wiping his forehead with his hand.

“Slight problem though,” continued the anonymous person, “We have to dispose of the remaining four kids at your centre, they know too much,”

“I shall finish them off instantly,”

“No, that would be murder. You have to make them push their switches,”

“How? Those brats won’t push it,”

“We will be sending assistance, good bye, Johnny”

A click sound was heard, ending their conversation.
