Oh, Christ. That poor girl.

Whether this backfires on the Kos et al, or the choice of Palin backfires on McCain & the GOP, Bristol Palin gets to live under this cloud for the rest of her life.

Yeah, pretty much. I feel sorry for Bristol in either case, but I have to admit that this just shows one more facet of how poor the vetting process was to begin with. Palin is under investigation for abuse of power in Alaska already, but to add this on top of all the other issues is just going to be bad news all the way around.

The Obama campaign is going to use this stuff. And that is just going to be sad.

Or a bigger cloud - if this is second pregnancy.

You really have to admire the high standard of hypocrisy here: "If people try to politicize this, the American people will be appalled." -- Steve Schmidt, McCain campaign adviser

More appalled than the GOP's exploitation of the Edwards affair, or his wife's illness? Rules? Rules in a knife fight?

In light of the situation Palin should resign from the ticket. Her daughter, as well as the father of the child, will be hounded by the press as long as she is running for VP.
BTW the best thing Obama can do at this point, is to sit back and let things play out.
