Just a brief OT note to my slash-loving, cookery-show-viewing posse :D If you haven't yet watched the brilliant Two Greedy Italians, which has recently been on the BBC, all four eps are still available on the iPlayer for around the next five days. Their friendship is just a thing of beauty, isn't it? They play off one another so well; sometimes I think Antonio should open his heart more when Gennaro is always so eager to make him laugh - but then sometimes I think it wouldn't work if he wasn't so grumpy and unimpressed, lol!

Some of the food on that programme...! *faints* I like looking at dainty plates of circular cheesecakes and 'jenga' chips as much as the next person, and I know on Masterchef the aim is to train chefs to a high restaurant standard and that means an emphasis on presentation as much as on other things. But the rustic food Antonio and Gennaro were cooking? That's MY poison :)

A thing of beauty is about right... sometimes it's like Gennaro is trying to 'woo' Antonio but Antonio is not having any of it. LOL.

And yes, wow, the FOOD. My poison too. I love Gennaro's casserole type meals! And the scenery. I've just been reading Bill Bryson's Neither Here Nor There and he adored Italy and made me want to go. Especially to Capri. I've never been unfortunately, but maybe one day as I know I would love it.

You know, I thought EXACTLY the same thing ;) Sometimes I worry that it's the slash goggles being strapped to my face too tightly, but I'm sure it's happening and that I'm not just inventing it! He really seemed to want to seduce him with that chocolate pot :0

I've been to a few places in Italy and, although very beautiful, they were so touristy - I'd love to do what they did and go the length and breadth of rural Italy, exploring all the hidden gems! :)
