Femshep/Garrus: Small little things

You know how happy those little, simple things your lover does for you can make you feel better when you're down. I image with the stress from the war, Garrus and Shepard may not have a lot of times together so they try to show their beloved how much they care with small everyday actions.
For example: when Shepard came back to her cabin and would just sleep right at the couch her reports scattering around, Garrus would help her tidying things up and tuck her into bed. Or when Garrus came back and just sleep with his armor on, Shepard would help him change clothes and fix/polish his armor for him. Or whenever one of them leave first while the other still asleep, they would leave breakfast and a small "I love you" note behind, etc.

"Forget it," Garrus grunted as he watched one insane human after another leap off an outcropping on the mountainside and soar through the air, leaving a cloud of spraying snow behind. "I'm not going to hurl myself off a cliff because it's fun'Shepard huffed out an exasperated sigh. "We're not going to do any advanced jumping, Garrus. We're just going to do some... simple stuff

She retreated to the bathroom and started the water for the hot tub. She set the temperature and the depth at which it was to shut off automatically, then returned to the living room for a little cuddle with Garrus while she waited for the system's ping to announce that the bath was ready

She settled down by the fork and knife he'd already set out on the placemat, and he slid the plate in front of her. "Thanks," she murmured as she dug into the soft peaks of eggs, ham and cheese. "This looks delicious."
She took a bite and closed her eyes as she savored the symphony of flavors on her tongue. "Mmm, you've gotten really good at this, Garrus," she said with a grateful smile. He beamed back at her as he deposited a plate of toast and a mug of hot coffee next to the omelet.
Indeed, he'd had a lot of practice preparing levo meals for her during the last few months while she was recuperating from her injuries. He'd never had much interest in cooking for himself when he'd lived alone during his C-Sec days, but once he'd started to learn how to get around the kitchen for her sake, he'd found that he actually enjoyed the satisfaction of creating something that she liked, even if he himself had no idea if his creations tasted even remotely close to what they were supposed to

You're right. Everything is a competition for him. His only past sexual encounter that we know of = competition. First date with Shepard = Competition. Casual banter with James = Competition.

A!A: Actually, that's why I don't like that first date that BW gave us in ME3. A romantic date shouldn't be about competition, IMHO. The fluffy stuff was fine, but trying to establish who's the better shot just wasn't romantic for me at all. Especially when they shoot at things all the frigging time anyway.
Good point about his love of competition. There was also the time when he and Joker tried to out-joke each other.
But I don't really think that everything is a competition for him. He can also be warm and loving and caring and supporting. At least, that's the way I see him. :)

It was true that Garrus was not adept at chemistry, which for all intents and purposes was what he was doing, but he could read and follow simple directions. His visor translated the directions on the back of the canister he was holding so he could read it
