The woman sitting in the front bench on the shuttle to Noveria barely glanced up as he walked past, probably used to stares. Her greyish blue hair was slicked back in a long ponytail, the ends trailing over her shoulders. The unnatural colour coupled with the high shaved sides of her scalp, would have been enough to attract a few looks alone. The pattern of ink on her olive skin, extending down a long elegant neck, disappearing under the white tank top she wore, undoubtedly following down under the loose fitting trousers to skim her long legs, the tattoos could have drawn attention too. And after staring at that, people probably noticed the large almond shaped eyes and ruby red lips, the little smile that preoccupied them. It was those last details that threw Jacob, a surprisingly peaceful and easy expression on the young woman's face, so much so that he kept walking straight past and took the seat behind her. Jack. Jack was all grace and rhythm, her body undulating atop his, the tattoos on her bare skin rippling with every flex of her muscles. Jacob lay back on the pillows and drank in the view. He liked the way her hands returned, again and again, to his stomach, fingers curling over muscles. She was silent, a little disconcertingly so, but he judged her happiness by the waves of contractions he felt wrack her body and the serene expression on her face, her closed eyes and gently parted lips

Orianna had a face that was almost identical to her sister's, which made it all the more jarring when naked emotion raced across it. She blinked reddened eyes and sighed, offering Jacob a half smile. "But come on, enough about us and our problems. How have you been?"
He scowled at the holoscreen. "Don't do that, Ori, we've all been concerned about the kid."
She ran a hand through her short, cropped hair. "Sorry, I just - it's consuming us right now."
He understood. The thought of Miranda's little boy laid out on a operating table, doctors cutting out the cancerous eezo born tumours in his brain had been consuming Jacob too. He had considered going to Earth but Garrus had firmly shot down that idea 'What are you going to do? Tell her how sad you feel about this? She doesn't need that, she knows. And things between you two are never clear. Don't give her that to worry about too'.
Garrus knew a thing or two about sick families.
"If there's anything I can do . . ." it was an old phrase, tired and near meaningless, but Orianna

I love this! It all rings so true, especially Jack being concerned about the kid. It's definitely something that would tug a string with her based off the shadow broker files.

By the time they reached Jacob's apartment, they were walking so close their elbows brushed on another's sides. Jacob waited for the door to close and faced her, running his hands down her arms and leaning in for a kiss. It was spicy and a little alcohol fuelled, and she kissed him back, all softness and heat

Someone hit his shoulder and he found himself looking around the crowded room for a familiar face, or an angry one. He didn't see either, only more Blue Suns mercs, each looking as beat as he felt. He turned his attention back to the dismantling of the Eclipse base and it wasn't until half an hour later, as he oversaw their surrendering of assets, that he heard a voice in his ear

Jack needs a trustworthy, reliable someone to give her stability and a chance for happiness.
Jacob is a trustworthy, reliable someone who can give stability and happiness.
Now, if only it could be clear that just because he works with Cerberus doesn't mean he supports their occasional sadism...
