A warning to FF.net users...

Sep 02, 2010 09:09

I'm not sure if anyone here knows about this, but since we have several fic writers who also post to FF.net, I thought I would pass it along.  There seems to be a new group trolling FF.net and forcing deletions.  This came to my attention from the kirkspock  community, and I was concerned since I know a lot of people repost things from the kink meme.

Hey OP, you might want to change this post setting to 'Public'. It's community-locked at the moment, but I'm sure lurkers who probably only just watch the community would like to see this too. :)

Stupid bots keep trying to kill the fun. No wonder a lot of authors always leave FFN, come back, and probably leave again.

Well, I had it set for members, based on what they said about the group having Livejournal members. But I can always change the settings. I just figured I would get the warning out, first, and I didn't want the community targeted with anything.

Ugh, hate groups. And ff.net really shouldn't have a problem with MA stuff at all. IT'S RATED!

If any of the fics I'm following get deleted I'm going to rampage.

reports fics that ... have bad grammar/spelling, or breaks other TOS rules

I'm crying here. It's so sad.

Really, I can't feel any sympathy for either side. I'll grab some snacks and watch the drama on fandom_wank later, though.

edit: After some further research, I'm leaning towards the trolls being the bigger douchenozzles in this conflict. Still hilarious DRAMA!!1!, though.
