I've recently been playing the volus Adept, for pretty much the first time ever. And I've been pleasantly surprised. It turns out that with Stasis and Biotic Orbs, the VolDept can do a decent amount of damage, and with regular use of Shield Boost, he's not necessarily dreadfully fragile.

Plus shield-spamming VolDepts seem to get a decent number of revives, too :)

I've found this kit comfortably-playable on Silver, and might even now be prepared to risk it on Gold.

I had a lot of fun playing a volus adept back when I was playing it regularly for the reasons you described.

I recall trying to use him to solo a Bronze match, though lol. Didn't work so well. :)
