Loved that she follows the Samara school of high heel execution.

And the Miranda school of super-skintight outfits.

At least it's not the Jack school of belt bras. D:

Hahah, the only thing that could have possibly made that interior art preview more sexy sexist and embarrassing is if they'd thought to outline some cameltoe through that ludicrously stupid skintight getup.

Not touching this one with a fifty-foot pole.

Also, "strong female character?" I think they mean "asshole psychopath." At least, that's how she comes across to me, judging by that preview.

Then again, considering how Shepard was written in ME3, I really feel like I shouldn't be surprised at that...

I thought it was alright, the game outfits are very form fitting as well after all, and definitely could've been much worse. I'm a bit more bothered by how bland the outfit is.

IMO, there's a difference between "form fitting" and "butt cleavage". Vega's outfit is form fitting. This? Is butt cleavage.

Although, yes. It could be much, much worse...

And definitely agreed on how bland and boring it is. It's also very poorly color-coordinated. I cringed in actual physical pain when I saw the abject neglect of color theory/coordination there. It's just... what.

The art seems better than usual, but that's not saying much...

Yeah. It's not Photoshop-rendered Garry's Mod screencaps or what looked to be magazine-ad traces. It actually looks like someone took the time to draw it.

But, like you said... that's not saying much...

They should have gotten the guy who did the cover to do the inside art...

They would've had to pay him more.

As well as admit that their "house style" is crap (and has been since at least 2000 BUT ANYWAY.)

jesus can they hire someone else for the art, because I can't.
hideous outfit, not even creases to indicate it's not spray painted on? can we stop with the asscrack-inserting pants already? (losing battle, I knoooow ;__;)
and what the fuck is wrong with her hair? and the background? and the little boy's head? and everything?

/I know superb comic artists who are borderline starving and this is just insulting. and I won't get into the writing... mhf. sorry if I seem angry, but it's really pissing me off. sigh. at least it's about a woman and not another white bald grizzled dude. baby steps.

When Omar Francia illustrates a 'strong female character' I cringe, because he'll employ all sorts of butt/crotch/boob shots he can pull off with or just use another one of his butt-ugly extreme facial expressions. That sample has at least one 'look at her crotch!' shot in that page, with a couple hideous faces to boot. (Even SFC has this weird snarly lip thing going on.)

The potential for story is great, but I groan at the art quality that we'll be getting from Francia. I would love for someone to write a descriptive adaptation of these comics so we know what's going on without having to suffer Francia's art.

I wish they had gone with whoever did the Mass Effect: Galaxy art. It's much cuter and distinctive

That would be Joy Ang, I believe :)

That would be Joy Aang, who's a great illustrator! (Look her up!) IDK if she could pull off a comic, since the ME: Galaxies game only required these busts.
But definately this is a good example to argue for a looser style instead of the rigid 'comic realism' they've gone for through the entire comic series.
At least the artist who did Garrus' oneshot in Homeworlds had leeway for style considering all he had to draw were turians.
