Fixing ME3's engineering dialogue bug (with Kaidan in your game)

May 29, 2012 20:51

If you've ever played through ME3 and wondered why Gabby and Ken were so quiet, it's due to a bug that probably won't get fixed officially. Unofficially, however, there's a solution! A solution with hacking.

Or you could just slap some omnigel on it )

Thank you for this! It'll come in handy for the one save I do have with Kaidan.

As an Xbox user, is this the kind of thing I can get banned for if the TPTB are feeling particularly vicious one day?

In theory, any modification of an Xbox file has the potential to get you banned. This risk is amplified now that the game has an online MP component. That said, I don't know how serious the risk is... it could be negligible. For myself I've never actually heard of anyone getting banned for modding ME2 saves. But the risk does exist, yes.

What sinvraal said, but at the same time, I think they're more concerned about IP and power-gaming on MP.

A mod to a save file (which technically probably isn't accessed by online) to fix a bug? I can't imagine they'd be that vicious.
