She doesn't do much besides bump up some War Assets and there's a reputation sidequest involved, I believe. The only thing that kept bringing me back was occaisional updates about Earth.

This. I was shocked at how little Allers really had to do with the game, considering how much time they must have spent making her model.

I liked the idea - ties into the whole 'war assets' thing by emphasising there's non-tangable assets like good press that support the war effort too, but the execution was... well. Kind of meh.

The conversation with al-jilani would have been enough to emphasise the role of the press, we didn't need a reporter on our ship too...

It didn't help anything that any time she was talking to me Chobot was in direct contrast to the most experienced voice actor in the business, and... ouch.
