hahaha, thanks. my desperation was laughed at when it's a hard knock life started up on that cd, though.

yeah, my dad said they have things you can buy that are made to make internal harddrives into external, and that might be a possibility. until then, i have the joy of rediscovering mix cds i made when i was 12.

The reason the iriver (and iPods as well) is so hard to open is that tech companies try to keep their hardware a secret as long as possible. By making them incredibly difficult to open you discourage tinkerers who want to reverse engineer their products. There are actually people get paid to figure out how new Apple products work as soon as they are released, I heard a story about them on NPR when the new iPhone came out.

you mean to say that that green madness can be understood? that is insane. like trying to understand the universe.

they should explain to me this: the green thing from my external harddrive has, in those disgusting block letters "LOSE". not even kidding.
