And I think it's fine to take a day off when nothing terribly important might be happening where you would otherwise be (which is why I feel all right about taking today as a 'health day' to clean my apartment and find everything I need for the UK trip). However, if I were in some capacity responsible for the general wellbeing of my fellow countrymen and -women ... There are better times to exhibit piety--and, if they were being honest, most of them aren't that pious. Or Jewish.
