What's the matter, you can't find a way to work whatever you need to see around the canonical narrative? The Star Trek franchise did Spock/Kirk slash officially in some of those novels in the 80's and 90's. Obviously not AU. I thought they were awful, but they kept selling. ;o)

I recall a few of those novels getting mightily close to homoeroticism without actually doing it. Again, one of those times when you could easily interpret it that way if you wished to.

Yeah, there was never any actual doing involved. Just a lot of heavy-duty hurt/comfort.
