WAND: Hornbeam and phoenix feather, 15½", pliant. Good for defensive magic.

• Hornbeam - In the Pottermore wand lore, hornbeam is said to favour "the talented witch or wizard with a single, pure passion, which some might call obsession". Schneizel has completely built up his life to achieve a single purpose, which he believes to be his true calling. (It's also referred to by Ollivander as a 'vision', which suits him well.) Furthermore, hornbeam is a very exacting wand-wood, and adheres to a person's own code of honour specifically - befitting a man with such a skewed ideal.
  
• Phoenix feather - "the creature from which they are taken is one of the most independent and detached in the world." This in particular seems fitting to Schneizel given how he sees himself - somewhat distanced from others. Also notably versatile and rare, suiting his apparently eccentric tastes.
  
• Pliant - Though unyielding in his own beliefs and cause, Schneizel isn't the type to break before he bends. He's adaptable and often open-minded.
  
• Strengths - Schneizel admonishes Lelouch during battle for being so keen to attack. His own approach can't be called passive by any means, but Schneizel puts a lot of stock in preparation and reaction, and generally ensures a strong defense - both on the battlefield and as a person.
  
  ABILITIES & POWERS: A normal human in his canon, Schneizel will have no abilities transferring. However, owing to his personality, notable magical strengths will be:
  • Counter-spells - as Schneizel will be teaching a class in this, he's particularly adept at this form of magic. In battle, Schneizel generally favours a strong defense - he's never one to be caught off guard, and so this school fits him well.
    
  • Charms - linked to the above, as well as to his ability to manipulate situations and people around him to his favour, Schneizel will display an aptitude for charms. Transfiguration won't come as easily to him, however.
    
  • Occlumency - The ability will require some practise and honing, but Schneizel will be a naturally gifted Occlumens. Once again, this is bolstered by his excellent self-discipline, as well as his ability to distance himself and keep his true thoughts or feelings masked. This would also be a skill that he would have definite interest in for that reason. Similarly, Schneizel could, over time and with practise, turn his hand to Legilimency - another thing he'd be interested in pursuing.
    
  • Non-verbal spells - Possessing a great deal of focus, mental discipline, and a general preference for subtlety, Schneizel excels with these. Though the spells most reliant on vocalization will still have effects dulled somewhat, Schneizel can cast many things without a sound.
    
  • Duelling - With his charms, strong defensive spells, and non-verbal ability, Schneizel will make for a versatile and formidable duellist - once he gets the practise for it.
