Interesting. As a liberal arts/philosophy person, who is also a geek, this analysis is interesting to me. I think there is something to what he is saying, although actually I think it is actually in model analysis, and not in knowing specific facts ( ... )

Geeks do tend to gravitate to "Geek Classics" however,

One thing as pointed out here is so called "Experts" just because they've done it for ages. However many "Experts" have bad habits in thoughts, processes and even suffer from the old Dunning Kruger affect.

I tend to see this in some tradespeople who do things a certain way just because it's easier for them and is somehow the best way according to their "expert" opinion.
