A Movie Version of Austen's "Emma" and Betty/Henry from "Ugly Betty"

I just watched the Gwyneth Paltrow movie version of "Emma" again. Now, Emma is a rather silly character, but the movie has that charm and romanticism that one can't help but love. Also, it contains all those oddball characters that Austen excelled at writing.

I have read the book, thanks for the recommendation. Jane Austen is fun, isn't she?

I can't disagree more about Gio being like Mr. Darcy, obviously. Henry is quite the gentleman and reserved, but has definite delights underneath the service--just like Mr. Darcy. However, as long as you don't Henry bash here (which would be sacrilege!), you are quite welcome to read my comments on my lj. I like multiple points of view as long as they are friendly.

If I was a Gio/Betty shipper, which I'm definitely not, I would think a more apt comparison of Gio would be more like Harry from "When Harry Met Sally." I'm merely mentioning this to show that my analogy isn't solely based on 'shipping preference or bias, but on character analysis. :)
