I'm approaching a moral dilemma that I have seen coming for a long time. I've kept my head in the sand for years and stuck my fingers in my ears while singing childish songs, to ward off the voices. And now I actually have to be a responsible adult about this ( Read more... )

The human body does need some meat in their diet. If this were not the case we would not have the teeth we have. (Yes, I know way too much about teeth these days from my job!) But you have to be smart about it. Besides, meat and poultry are in the four basic food groups.

Vegetarians I have known have all...without an exception...gone back to having some meat in their diet. So unless there is a health reason (allergy or the like) I would say do not trim meat out of your diet, but look at healthier ways to serve it.

There's no anemia in the family but I think things are probably just going to stay as they are: trying to make the meat cuts that I do use of good quality.
