International Women's Day

Today there's International Women's Day. I didn't get any flowers (that would be nice), but my parents came and my father decided to buy me and my sister a microwave. If I were you I wouldn't be complaining about my parents giving me unwanted presents, because the simple fact that they wanted to celebrate the festivity someway is a great thing indeed. In my house every holiday seems just a nornal day, and no one ever does anything to make it look a special day. My parents are just too alienated from themselves and from the world to appreciate moments like these.

Maybe not presents are unwanted, but the reasons my parents use to explain why they bought me this or that thing. Example: my mum buying me a skirt, blouse or any piece of clothing like this (I don't say it's bad) and saying that it's for me to look more feminine. I hate such a explainations. They make the present really unwanted.
