Holy cow. This was...amazing. It was great and scary, and God, I feel so bad for Lestrade. And John too, of course, but mostly Lestrade. Sherlock's reaction was so spot-on it hurts. I'm glad you didn't sugar-coat the ending though, it's really perfect as it is.

Thank you very much for that comment - I normally write stories with happy endings, but I felt this one just had to have a sad one. And yes, for all that it's very tough physically for John, I wanted to suggest that it was Greg who was really suffering emotionally. And I can imagine Sherlock not understanding that side of it at all.

I'm totally into John/Sherlock, but now I feel so bad for Lestrade. Finding he could go for John, but realizing it's always going to be Sherlock for John. And I love how you handled this, Dr. John talking Greg through it so he gets hurt the least, yet still doing it so it feels good for Greg.
