Betas wanted: could be dangerous

Regular readers (all three of you) will know that many of my fics are extremely long (10,000 words plus) and thus require betas of unusual strength and stamina. In addition, my valiant betas have often succumbed to strange and unusual fates: laptops dying, mystery illnesses, overloads of RL work, or even being forced to live under repressive right- ( Read more... )

Well, my RL busyness is easing up and I really do enjoy betaing. So I'd be happy to take on any or all (although not all at once). There's nothing in there that's going to squick me from the sound of things. Unless you hated the way I beta'd the laptop fic, of course...

So yeah, I'm very happy to tackle some fic if you want me.

I really want to do this despite winding up with consumption last time (and a right wing coalition). But my week just became manic! Next time, next time...

Betaing, probably not, but if you want me to check for typos I'm usually up for it.

Might take you up on that for future fics, if that's OK. Thanks for the offer. I don't always have my shorter fics betaed, but a few typos often get through however much I check them.

Sorry I can't help since I would be an awful beta but let me tell you, I can't wait for "Under the weather". Angst and 80s music never sound so good! :)

Miss Mary (is that not the approved form of address in your colony?) is currently braving the rigours of a country with 250 million guns, tornadoes and the water moccasin (not a form of aquatic shoe, so I now gather). It seems excessive to threaten her with further dangers. Besides, my subordinates report that during her 'holiday' she has continued scribbling, and it is possible that further fictions may emerge if you allow her to live.

One of these subordinates has even managed to gain access to certain of Miss Mary's files, which will be forwarded to your shortly, either for betaing or destruction. (My recommendation would be the latter). He is now receiving psychiatric care, though I am not sure whether the shock to his system was Miss Mary's spelling or her warped imagination. You have been warned.
