Thank you! I've written a few longer reports on the aspects of some subspecies (especially Puella moderna) but hadn't hunted down samples. This should give people a good idea of what's out there.

*bows* I would be delighted to see these studies, in the interests of... ah... science.

Lots more there now, including a couple I just came up with :)

I like. *thinks* Those 'American transfer student' Harry Potter Sues probably deserve a category all to themselves...and what about Sues disguised as canon characters?

A couple more suggestions for types... contrail May 12 2003, 11:03:10 UTC
What about Sues that are of a species that canonical has only one (or a very small known number of) survivor(s)? [The Saiyan Sues from Dragonball Z are one example of this type, and I'm sure there must be Final Fantasy 7 fics with previously unknown members of Aerith's race (that I can't remember the name of right now)...]

Also Sues of a species that the author creates that is more powerful than any of the pre-existing canon species...

Hoo-boy, Last Surviving Member of Dying Magical Race characters infest quite a few fandoms, and I'm sorry to say, quite a few originals too. That's a good one, IMO.

(BTW, Aeris' race is the Ancients or Cetra. Well, she's half-Cetra, anyway.)

Ah. I thought it was one of those, but I wasn't sure which one. :^) Been a while since I played FF7, and I never did actually finish it although I did come quite close.
