The section I chose as an example doesn't make this clear, but this fic is set in the mid '90s when Joseph either still was actually Magneto or everyone at least thought he was. I feel like bringing him back would be a bigger problem than bringing Jean back. Because in order to bring Joe back, Marvel would have to admit that he existed.

And Jean will come back sooner or later. Eventually, some writer or editor too stupid to let her stay dead will come along, mark my words.
