Okay, I'm at 20 minutes of 1.07, and I am not sure I can watch on. This is about the same level as some of the best/worst episodes of er, but with the addition of it being Freema. And I'm creeped about by the fact that the doctor looks a bit like Noah Wyle. But yeah, I think the last time a TV show made me feel like this was one of those really bad ( Read more... )

I know what you mean. It's such a hard episode to watch. Brilliantly written and acted, I thought, but man. It's just about my worst nightmare. I can deal with axe-wiedling murderers and ginormous mutant-spiders. But evil gynaecologists who molest and rape their patients? Fucking hell.

I have to say, considering I found the whole thing completely idiotic (which half-way intelligent woman, let alone someone who works in law enforcement, would do something so stupid? I mean, really), it was so well written and acted. Just, ugh. I took me almost three hours to get through it.

I think this is a good example of a TV show neglecting some of its believability for the sake of the drama, and in this case it worked really well. I mean, as you say, what she did was incredibly stupid, and surely no viction would have to watch a video of her own rape in court. But it just made for a very impressive hour of television.

Yes, exactly. If you switch off your disbelief-muscles for a while, it's brilliant. BUt the best part was the acting, I think. Especially Jamie just killed me. He always looked like he would bolt any second and could only just repress himself.
