K/S Valentine offering

Feb 07, 2011 16:01

So here's my offering for K/S Valentine, later than I had planned because at the last minute, I couldn't help tinkering with the hands. Then Kirk's nose. Then Kirk's hair. Then remembering Spock needed chest hair. And then the printer I had hoped to get this scanned at turned out to be closed on Mondays *headesk. So, the I-wish-it-were-fancy gray- ( Read more... )

You did it!
And it does look oh so very cuddly indeed!

Hopefully so! :-D Thanks for commenting darling.

Now I'm struggling to post the link to KS Valentine and just about pulling my hair off. How the heck do you make an art preview??? And how can you post links to people's profiles that show as little face icons with your username? The Rich Text posting doesn't work on my home computer for some unfatomable reason so I'm stuck with HTML. **banging head on desk**

Lol, no problem, I wrote that mostly to vent out, not as a plea for help :). It took me some time but I did figure it out - mostly ;), and it was very gratifying once it was done! :-D

By the way, lovely art on your icon. Is that something you did yourself?

And proud you should be! This is really beautiful. :-) I love the way Spock kind of envelopes Jim, with his hand curling possessively over his shoulder, the other on Jim's elbow, and he looks so content to be there. I love the little smile on Jim's face and those lovely pecs of his! And all set in a romantic Valentine heart - this is perfect! Thank you so much for sharing this. :D ♥

Aw, thank you so much! I've done very little art yet and I feel it's so full of imperfections and details I wish I could have done better, it means the world to know that people can see good sides to it too :). I hope to get better as I keep practicing. The pose and the tenderness are what I think I did best, and the heart, well, it seemed to fit well with the general shape of the drawig :)

Thank you very much for your kind comment!

That's an really valentinian piece of art! All warm and cuddly, just as you said.
I especially appreciate Jim's expression and Spock's hands, they're very well drawn.

Also, I sympathize with your struggles to make it look nice. My scanner and my computer refuse to talk to one another and I always end up taking photos of stuff and photoshoping them and it looks awful. I think the white and gray dots are a nice added bit… somehow it reminds me of snow and since it normally snows in February it fits well with Valentine's day (and give them an excuse for cuddling, as if they needed it).

Thank you! I like Jim's expression too *g* and I definitely succeeded better with Spock's hands than Jim's. And thanks for the sympathy on my posting problems! Although I'm very sorry you've had the same, as I know exactly how much on a pain in the behind it is. Yikes. I wish I had Photoshop at least too, but I don't anymore, so I had to make do with Photobucket's very limited edit options. But I'm glad you think it gave a rather nice result! <3 Thank you for your kind words.

Hehe, true, when stuck, you have no chose but be resourceful and creative ;). I'm glad this is one goof that apparently worked better than I had hoped. Thanks for your words on my Kirk! I worked on him a bit yesterday morning and I was glad that I managed to improve the likeness a little. The piece is very tiny - really size it's actually a bit smaller than the posted picture!! - so I didn't have a lot of room to maneuver. I'll make sure to use the whole page the next time :)
