Birthday restaurant ideas

FH's birthday is today, and he suggested that we go to a restaurant in Annapolis for a light dinner, then go for a walk somewhere and generally enjoy each others' company. My two favorite restaurants in Annapolis are Mike's Crab House (excellent food, right on the water with outdoor seating, but not a lot in the way of vegetarian fare) and McGarvey's Pub (heart of oldtown, a bit more vegetarian options). The latter would also afford an opportunity to wander around old town Annapolis, if that appeals. If you're more into beach walking there's Sandy Point, which also has some trails through the woods. Those would be my suggestions, anyway. :) There are a bunch of restaurants in the old town section, but I haven't tried many of them.

I had a nice lunch on the porch at McGarvey's so I second that one.

And the Naval Academy is fun to tour if you have the chance ... or try a walking tour ...

If you like sushi and other types of Japanese food, I would recommend Joss Cafe on Main Street. Their food is amazing. Just make sure that when you order you confirm that the food is actually vegetarian, because apparently some of their tofu dishes contain chicken stock.
