Make My Day

May 30, 2008 19:37

In addition to the death and despair, I came home from Wiscon with a cold. (Everyone else got the norovirus, but I just *have* to be different.) I thought I was better yesterday so I went out and did stuff. And woke up this morning feeling just awful. So I'm lying on the couch alternately surfing the web and reading a book and wondering what I' ( Read more... )

Blue Iris is having one more sale day on Saturday. You probably already knew that, though. I'll be getting ready to go to OC, so I probably can't make it, but if for some reason you're in the neighborhood selling books, give me a call.

My brain is so non-functional -- what the heck is OC?

Yes, I got email from them about the additional day. I'll see how I feel tomorrow. Jordin has to work tomorrow so I'd be free if I'm up to it.

OC = Orange County -- we're visiting Hal's Mom.

Also in the "interesting" category -- looks like researchers now think that Stonehenge was a royal burial place.

Here's the article from the Seattle Times:

I don't know what 404 means. Is there a way I can fix it so you can see it?

I got it via Neil. It is a Nigerian news story about shape-shifters.

Well, I clicked twice and both times I got a 404 message that the server tribune.com.ng wasn't found. However, now it's showing just fine. Off to read...

In honor of the great Harvey Korman, I give you sneezing Siamese twin elephants.

Next to the classic Gone With the Wind send-up, this is absolutely my favorite Carol Burnett bit.

And that's saying summat!

Laura mercy. After the elephants, I watched the whole Went With the Wind sketch, which I had not seen in its entirety since I was a smallish child. Damn, that's funny. I've always loved the curtain dress, but I'd forgotten so much of the rest of it. I particularly like Miss Starlet saying she didn't care if she had to steat and cheal.
