One week later and I'm still thrilled, but I have to keep reminding myself. Perhaps because all the good that has happened was clearly what was supposed to happen. It's not like we won the lottery, it's more like we got paid our salary. It's just that administration had decided not to pay us for the past eight years.

I know, I know, my little blue liberal paradise in the Pacific Northwest has skewed my perspective, maybe even beyond repair.

But I keep thinking about what a gut punch the election was four years ago, and forcing myself to remember how wrong things could have gone. And that reminds me just how right things went this time.

And, I keep checking on Obama, making sure he's not doing anything to disappoint me yet. (I lost so much trust during the Bush years.) Now, if he would just appoint Bill Richardson to Secretary of State, I'll be happy for a while longer. :)
