3rd Annual Mary McDonnell Birthday Donation/Scrapbook Event
Hi everyone!
With it being February and a little over 2 months until Mary's birthday on April 28, now is a good time to kick off the annual birthday donation drive.
The idea, for those new to the event, is to send whatever amount you feel comfortable sending to a selected organization in honor of Mary. In previous years we fans have given just shy of $1000 to organizations in honor of Mary. Now is our chance to again show Mary how much we adore and appreciate her work. This year the National Breast Cancer Foundation has been selected for such donations.
The National Breast Cancer Foundation mission is to save lives by increasing awareness of breast cancer through education and by providing mammograms for those in need.
The way to participate in this year's donation event is easy:
Step 1 - Visit the Foundation's site and donate online. Be sure to mark the donation is in honor of Mary McDonnell as part of the birthday donation event.
Step 2 - Send an email to me at: marymcdonnellcares@yahoo.com
In the email include your name and the amount you donated. The first will be written on a card mailed to Mary with the grand total and the later of course helps me determine the grand total. :)
*Feel free to donate at any time but please have all donations made/emails sent with amount & name by April 21, 2008.
Also, I want to remind everyone that starbuck92 will be gathering contributions for a scrapbook to send to Mary again this year. Details on that as well as banners for both events will be posted here and on other Mary fansites in the coming days.
A big thank you for the past years' donations and contributions to the scrapbook(s) - and an advance thanks for all you do to support this year's endeavors!
