Ok so last night's Grey's ep? Mary was awesome! WOAH is all I have to say. Her break down was heart wrenching. Mary's facial expression during it was amazing ( Read more... )

Is she there to bring out the talents of Bailey and Cristina, to help them figure out something?

Essentially. Which is why I hope this is only a guest role for her, and she doesn't become a regular character -- as much as I would love to be watching Mary again regularly.

Everyone becomes comic relief on that show, to be honest. It's just classic Grey's to have funny moments, especially between heavy scenes. Probably one of their best, imo. One thing I am continuing to like Mary in this role, is that she's partnered with Bailey and Christina, who are well-layered characters.

ps: HUGGING MACHINE!! I WANT A MARY. ♥

Seriously I wanted to be part of the hugging machine! I do like the Dixon/Bailey/Cristina relationship though.

Me too. I mean I knew she was going to freak out because she was trembling but I wasn't prepared for her to scream. I felt so bad when Bailey went to find her and she was squeezing herself in the doctor's lounge. Broke my heart.

Hmmmmm. Thanks for your thoughts. I agree with how she gets the docs to adapt to her different needs and they learn about themselves.

Doctor Dixon is suppose to make you rethink what normal is, she's suppose to make you uncomfortable because she is there to make you examine yourself and the way you may react to someone without knowing the full details of the situation. I can see why Mary would want to play someone so different as Dr. Dix. It's a great role, maybe a little lost on Grey's - I could have seen it being handled better on ER.

^ Yep. (^_^) I agree.

I think she was supposed to be a foil in a way, a character of her own that allowed the other characters to see something different other than the norm.

Also, Mary's acting just sort of knocks everything out of the park. *wants to hug her*

I loved it!!! At first My heart Broke then when Cristina came in and said I was thinking about Thorazine and looks on their faces~ I bust out laughing~ I do feel sorry for her that would be heart wrenching to have to go through that~

But I think if she stays on a bit they will learn to deal with her different. It also makes me wonder even more what her life outside the hospital setting is like~
Then what she told Bailey about being a pediatric surgeon, shows she doesn't miss a thing!!

Also loved when Cristina did the same thing to Owen when he freaked~
