OoooOOOOooooo, songs for the anniversary of their shootings! Wonderfully done, btw!
Throughout it all, if she'd ever had a dream it was to have someone at her back. Someone she could talk to about anything and everything. Someone who would encourage her to stand on her own, but would also stand beside her to hold her up if she needed or asked for the help. Someone who would look past her flawed personality and screwed up past to see the woman who wanted the little girl's dream of a happily ever after. Even when that same ephemeral dream made her sneer when she heard the phrase aloud. She wanted someone to whom it wouldn't matter that her version of happily every after included minimal personal time, a sometimes dangerous job and visits to the range instead of picket fences, society parties and 2.5 kids.

Mary's introspection in the beginning was perfect, and Marshall being her "go to" man... *sigh*
The shooting anniversaries...wow. Those would be really rough.
GREAT job...can't wait for part 3!

I'm liking this a lot, and now I'm off to read the 3rd part.
Durga is very appropriate for Mary.
